Have you ever wanted to capture the places around you with a sketchbook, pen, and watercolor?
This six-week progressive course is designed to take you from the foundations of urban sketching in the studio to confidently sketching on location around Myrtle Beach.
During the first three weeks, we will build the essential skills needed for successful on-location sketching, including expressive line work, simple perspective, sketching people, watercolor techniques, and learning how to simplify a scene.
During weeks four through six, we will take those skills into the field and sketch together at selected locations throughout the area.
Because each lesson builds on the one before it, this is a complete six-week program rather than a drop-in class. Attendance during the first three studio sessions is especially important, as those lessons provide the foundation for the on-location portion of the course.
No previous urban sketching experience is required. Beginners are welcome.
