What if the path only appears when we walk it?

There are seasons in life when clarity arrives quietly.

Not with fireworks or certainty… but as a whisper we can no longer ignore.

Last week, I shared thoughts about balance—about honoring both the life we have built and the deeper longings moving beneath the surface. I’ve been thinking about that all week, and perhaps the next part of the story is this:

What do we do once the truth becomes clear?

Sometimes we wait for proof.
For guarantees.
For every piece of the puzzle to make logical sense.

But life rarely works that way.

I recently came across these words about faith and trust, and they stopped me in my tracks:

"The path will reveal itself only to those willing to step into the unknown."

That hit me.

Because if I’m honest, so much of this season has been about learning to trust before certainty arrives.

Trusting the direction my art is taking.

Trusting the quiet pull toward creating, teaching, and building something more aligned with who I am becoming.

Trusting that dreams do not need permission to matter.

The truth is, many of the things we are most meant to do will not feel entirely logical at first. Logic speaks to what can already be measured. Faith asks something different of us.

It asks us to begin.

And perhaps that leap is not always dramatic.

Sometimes it looks like trying something new.
Sharing your work.
Signing up for the class.
Starting the project.
Opening the door you’ve been standing beside for far too long.

Or simply allowing yourself to believe that what is calling you may be worthy of your attention.

I’m learning this myself.

Over the past few weeks I’ve been quietly tending to new offerings, refining my website, growing my print collections, and opening space for more personal creative experiences through private lessons and classes. Not because I have every answer—but because I’m learning that the path rarely appears all at once.

Sometimes it reveals itself one brave step at a time.

So this week, I leave you with this question:

Where might life be asking you to trust yourself a little more?

Maybe the leap is smaller than you think.

And maybe… the path is already waiting.

With gratitude,
Ann

P.S. A few new things are unfolding in my creative world—including updated website offerings, fine art prints, and private art lessons designed for those wanting a more personal creative journey. If you’ve been curious, I’d love to have you explore what’s new.

My artistic journey began with formal studies at the esteemed Willoughby School of Fine Art in Cleveland, Ohio, during my formative years. Transitioning to Cincinnati in the mid-70s, I continued my artistic education at the Cincinnati Art Academy, all while navigating the excitement of high school. However, it was a pivotal move to Southern California during my senior year that expanded my artistic horizons.

In California, I pursued further education in art at Citrus College before transferring to San Diego State University to specialize in Fine Art with a focus on Graphic Design. The culmination of my academic pursuits led me to Platt College in San Diego, where I honed my skills in Graphic Design, laying the foundation for my professional endeavors.

Embarking on my career, I delved into the dynamic realm of graphic design, first with a prominent publishing company and later as a freelance designer. However, my path took an unexpected turn when I was introduced to the world of Merchandising, leading me to contribute my talents to renowned companies such as Pier One, Linens and Things, and Office Max.

Despite the demands of my professional life, my love for painting endured, even if it had to momentarily take a back seat. Now, as I re-enter the art world, I find myself rediscovering the joy and fulfillment that comes with creating art. Drawing inspiration from my experiences and the guidance of local artists, I have embarked on a new chapter, showcasing my evolving style and rekindling my artistic spirit.

My journey has undoubtedly shaped my artistic voice, evolving with each phase of life's twists and turns. While my style may have transformed over the years, it remains a testament to my growth as an artist and as an individual.

I am thrilled to share my work with you and your esteemed gallery, hopeful that it resonates with viewers as much as it does with me.
