Choose the People Who Lift You
Have you ever noticed how different you feel after spending time with certain people?
Some people have a way of leaving us more hopeful, more confident, and more excited about what is possible. They encourage our ideas, celebrate our growth, and remind us of our strengths when we forget them ourselves.
Those people matter.
I believe the people we surround ourselves with help shape the way we see our lives. When we are around people who are growing, creating, learning, building, and believing in what is possible, some of that energy begins to rub off on us too.
That is one of the things I love most about teaching art.
There is something incredibly rewarding about watching someone move from, “I don’t think I can do this,” to “Look what I just did.”
Sometimes all it takes is a little encouragement, a little patience, and someone willing to say, “Keep going.”
That is the kind of person I want to be for others, and the kind of people I want to surround myself with too.
People who inspire me to think bigger.
People who encourage me to keep growing.
People who celebrate progress, possibility, and the courage it takes to try something new.
Because success is not only about what we accomplish. It is also about who we become along the way and the people who help remind us of what we are capable of.
This Week’s Reflection
Who in your life makes you feel more like yourself?
Who encourages you, inspires you, or helps you believe a little more in what is possible?
And just as importantly:
Who can you lift up this week?
A kind word, a little encouragement, or simply telling someone, “I believe in you,” can mean more than we realize.
You are worthy of relationships that help you grow.
You are enough. You do enough. You have enough.
And may you always have people around you who remind you of what is possible.
